Week 3 question
I have picked to do my research in the architecture building. The name of the group/club I am going to be doing my research about is called NOMAS. It stands for National Organization of Minority Architecture Students. I chose this group because as a student I feel as though I need to join a club or something to get a full college experience. This club meets the goals of being with other minorities while staying within my major. I think this club could provide me with future networking possibilities for my major as well as a better acknowledgement of being a minority architecture student. If I were to ask a random person on the street about my site, they probably wouldn’t have any idea of what club I was talking about. Honestly I am quite sure that many people within in the architecture building itself, especially the first and second year students have never heard of NOMAS before. The people of this subculture include most of the African American students involved in the college of architecture and planning, as well other ethnicities such as Arab, and Indian.

I haven't heard of that group before but it sounds interesting. Does minority mean only races other than white? I myself am half hispanic but I don't think you can really tell. I'm confused on how you can join the group though. Do you have to be a minority?
NOMAS is really cool I don’t think that a lot of minorities in Architecture know about the club. And I have heard that they take a lot of trips to do networking with other clubs and stuff so that probably helps a lot of people. Are you thinking about going to any of the field trips with them? Do you think that you would like to be a member? Because I am sure that you could really benefit from being in a club that promotes networking and encourages minorities in the field of architecture.
Good Luck =)
